htaccess Elite

Hello there
I would like to ask you any suggestion to make a .htaccess work both locally and remotely.
The thing is I am using xampp for local testing and I have some references in the .htaccess file to the "www.website.com"(remote) so when I click some link on the website it goes to the remote server because of the redirecting. Would it be posible to go either to localhost (local) or to www.website.com(remote) depending on where I am accessing with just the same .htaccess file?
