Hello,

I was changing settings for my wordpress blog in Askapache and I managed to somehow break it. I had set it to ask for password for both wp-admin and login, and now I cannot log into my blog dashboard at all. While I WAS on, it started asking me for passwords to do anything, including change pages.

So, I tried to deactivate what I had just set, and it asked for password. So, I dutifully put in my password each time, and no access.

My next step was to go into my files from my server-side access (using ftp) and just simply delete AskApache plugin and start over. I deleted the plugin, but still no access. So, I restored it from the backup I'd made (which includes the settings I made that started this whole mess) and I'm no closer to being able to get on and edit my blog, etc. than I was an hour ago when I started making these changes.

What do I do to restore my access?

I checked and I am using the correct password for access... I am using Firefox 3.0.1 and the only addons I'm using on there are weatherfox and GoogleEarth plugin, which were not interfering before.

any help you can give would be greatly appreciated -- I am at a loss as to where to go next to fix this.

thank you.

c

P.s.. this is the page I get when I try to put in my username and password:
**********************
Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
