Blog hijacking

Postby WordPlay » 26 Jul 2008 04:23

My blog was hijacked today and all my content now appears at the hacker's domain. I installed AskApache after the fact, because I didn't find it until I was looking for a solution to get the hacker out of my blog. And I realize AskApache isn't really made to address breaches once they've been committed anyway.

After searching all day, I still couldn't find any information that was simple enough for me to understand so I could stop the hijacking. I know who hosts the domain (DreamHost) but I've learned they're pretty much useless in the response department. So I don't know if they'll ever shut down the account.

I tried changing passwords and even deleting all the files on my server and uploading from a pre-hack version of my blog. None of these things helped.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this parasite off my back? Thanks in advance for your help!
